9/10 Worth watching I almost quit series a couple of times because it is very long., 40 plus episodes. But it keeps you coming back. Cast is very good. I felt sorry for the lead actress for her agonizing scenes, hoping she got to laugh or smile after daily shoots. Last episode I've watched several times. Permalink 9/10 An Underrated Classic Which Will Be Ageless ... a A Stellar Production All Round with a Brilliant Cast, Excellent Screenplay & Scripting ... showcasing the interplay & development of four Relationships played out amid the backdrop of sufficiently engaging Corporate intrigues & rivalry in modern Shanghai. Undergirded by a seamlessly executed OST which heightened the chemistry between the main lead couple is deliciously palpable. Meeting again after 7 yrs following a crushing breakup for reasons that remained nebulous, audiences are then drip fed the reason over the next 48 episodes. The angst, restraint, longing ... Exquisite. FF Button was a helpful friend during the first viewing for a quick overview of the main storyline ... but this is where the rewatch value comes in, one then finds that one needs to go back to the other sections to mine for answers that are hidden "slow released" in the dialogue - to patch the not appeal to every demographic, likely the over 30s set with a high urban bias with patience for dialogues. But there is good depth and thought in the scripting and storytelling. Artistic licence and a respect for cultural tearingly frustrating in parts with things left unsaid or the unhelpful naggings, hilariously funny in others, loyalties tested in friendships, dilemmas, melting tender moments, cunning moves, fierce competition, love. & corporate rivalry, sabotage & betrayal, personal insecurities and regression, regrets & resolutions ... there really wasn't any part in the script that was cringeworthy though admittedly the "again" breakup in Ep 44 1817 was unnecessary I thought. A Hollywood ending in 30 episodes could've gained it higher scores perhaps. A little protracted. The ending was slightly flat and corny compared to the velvety crescendo midway. Eps 28-30However in hindsight, true to intention in storytelling, one could see how the latter 18 episodes was "needed" for all the subplots to fully unfold and various relationships to ripen. Diverse, believable and relational content between love interests, siblings, family friends, colleagues, business associates and rivals...Great script. acting, setting, hairdstyles, complexion & makeup, costumes, handbags ... Permalink 9/10 Awesome chemistry between the 2 main leads! This is the 3rd drama from Hans Zhang - Boss & me, Sunshine of my life & this. All 3 are fantastic. So far in Sunshine of my life is the best due its plot & swoonworthy, he has the most beautiful female lead & luckily here he has also a beautiful female chinese drama that contain unrequited love, back-stabbing, deceit & a shame truly sad that women are portrayed as such no dignity, no self-confidence & no a long drama & some scenes are draggy & long. I fast forward some scenes that are not related to the 2 main scenes are just of the 2 main leads Nanxian & WenNuan talk like an adult, they go on defend, silent treatment & but will not rewatch. 1 out of 1 found this helpful. Permalink 5/10 Too much of a marathon Warning Spoilers The main problem with this series is the we meet Wen Nuan and Nanxian they appear to be in their late twenties - early Nuan was born in makes her 18 and Nanxian about she ran away to London 7 years would make her 11 years old and Nanxian about incompetence by the even have her celebrating the day she and Nanxian broke on her return she deliberately joins Nanxian's company to be near him - but she holds him at arm's length constantly. He is frustrated by her - but he calls her "chess piece" which doesn't speak of true love to me - rather that he is using her as a business mother of course is a fly in the appointment and blames Wen Nuan's break up with Nanxian for her husband's death in a plane crash. He was returning home because he heard of the break up. Nobody pointed out to her that it was Wen Nuan's sister Wenro who was the cause of everything that happened we supposed to accept that?Why do writer's have such contempt for the intelligence and analytical ability of their audience?Nanxian for some noble reason is having a fake relationship with Nuan's ex best school friend -Yixin - a better name for her might be VIXEN - who is of course in love with Nanxian and who does every nasty thing in her power to get Nuan fired from her job. I fast forward through far too many filler episodes of endless boardroom talks and girly chats that did very little to drive the plot forward. It took far too long for the lovers to eventually get together and the end result of Yixin's change of heart which resulted in Nanxian pretending to marry her was just too silly for words. Wenro's relationship was completely implausible - but the young man was will probably enjoy a lot of it - if you don't question too much and accept the many implausibilities.. 1 out of 1 found this helpful. As with all on these type shows with a long run, the first 3-5 are introducing characters with the weaknesses and sometimes strengths. After the initial phase, it got mildly interesting. The I lost the thread completely around epi 10 or 12. It was a uncoordinated mismash of junk for the next 20 or so epis. I found some interest after that. Did it end up strong, no. Just some interest. Some of the characters were fairly interesting, and some of the plot interests were occasionally compelling. This drama was too long and would have been much better had it been shorter. The main premise is that Zhang Han Nanxian and Janice Chang Wen Naun had been madly in love when she suddenly dumps him, won't tell him why and disappears off to England for years aided by her friend Linlu Jing Chao. During the 7 years Nanxian is supported by BonYixin Jenny Zhang. Yixin is in love with Nanxian who has never gotten over losing Wen Naun and Linlu is in love with Wen Naun returns to China and takes a job as assistant to Nanxian why would you do that and the story begins and goes on and on and on!I certainly didn't dislike this series but did skip through quite a number of episodes. Zhang Hans as always is excellent but compared with the chemistry between him and the FL in Here to Heart the chemistry in this one fell flat and I actually wanted him to end up with Yixin!There are some very good business dilemmas in this which made it more interesting. Poor dialogues, so cheesy that actually it made me smile. More importantly the plot doesn't make sense at all. Lead Female is sent by, present boyfriend, to London for 7 years bring her back. She doesn't work in his company and instead joins the company of her ex bf. Weird...I would expect a loving woman to join her bf to help him expand his business. But nope. On top of that she knows that both companies are fierce competitors. Both guys and her who are supposed to be experienced execs have no clue of what conflict of interests mean!!! Unbelievable...that already was enough to kill the plot and the show. This does not happen in the real world whole show gives a feeling that the whole crew of a bad novella were given a decent production budget but still end up making a show that reeks bad taste the nouveau riche way. Guys and girls wear clothes that are supposed to be classy but are actually the acting is awful. They are all stereotyped characters. In fact, I would love to read it if there is one after watching this drama. Why? Well, because as you can see from the Here To Heart review below, I think there are certain things that the drama is unable to flush out effectively from the book. The drama spends a great deal of time focusing on the awkward relationship between Wen Nuan and Nanxian as they re-explore their feelings and trust towards each other. To make things more complicated, Yixin loves Nanxian and they seem to be a couple. She also tries her best to create problems for Wen Nuan to prevent her from getting back together with Nanxian. At the same time, Wen Nuan has a close relationship with Linlu which often invites misunderstanding. So, will Wen Nuan and Nanxian end up together again? Wen Nuan and Nanxian reunited after going through much ups and downs throughout the drama. The reason Nanxian lets others assume that he is in a relationship with Yixin is to protect her from overzealous fans. He also didn’t want to explain the actual situation to Wen Nuan because he wanted to make her jealous and fight for him EpisodeThe built-up towards the last episode of Hear To Heart sees Wen Nuan and Nanxian getting closer and closer to each other as they worked through their problems. However, Nanxian’s mother was against their relationship and Wen Nuan was under great pressure to leave him again. To get her back, Nanxian pretends that he will marry Yixin. By doing this, he hopes Wen Nuan can summon her courage to fight for their love rather than avoiding the problem. The fake wedding was also to help Yixin to force Wei Ning to make a Wen Nuan decides to rush to the wedding ceremony to fight for Nanxian, she was held up by bad traffic and arrived late. Nanxian left her a note and a wedding dress. In the note, Nanxian mentioned that they will never find true bliss if they don’t end up with each other. With that, he left the country without a word and it is Wen Nuan’s turn to feel the agony of waiting for the one she loves. During this time, she begins to understand how much Nanxian suffered when she left months later, Nanxian’s mother begins to accept that she shouldn’t be so selfish to separate the 2 lovers. She told Wen Nuan to look for Nanxian in the UK at the places where they have made beautiful memories together. Yixin finally realized that Nanxian would never fall in love with her no matter how hard she tries. As Wei Ning steps up the effort to woo her, she begins to feel the warmth of being loved wholeheartedly which she has never got from Nanxian. Although Wei Ning is not exactly a good guy and was thinking of marrying another woman approved by his father, he still chose Yixin in the end. She was also pregnant with his child by then and they ended up moving to Rou also found her happiness with Liu Rui. Although he is actually a spy planted by Wei Ning to get control of Linlu’s company, Liu Rui decided to help Wen Rou to bring down Wei Ning in the end. Guan Ti and Xiaodai also managed to settle their differences. Although they went separate ways after Xiaodai found out that she was being used for data gathering, she still comforted Guan Ti when he had his differences with Nanxian and Gao Fang. It is indeed sad to see Linlu helping Wen Nuan to try to get back Nanxian after all the time that he has stood by To Heart Review – My VerdictHere To Heart is one long drama for the romance genre. Compared to K-drama rom-coms such as Her Private Life and Something About 1 Percent, this mainland drama is indeed more long-winded and melodramatic. You must have the patience to sit through it because there is a lot of back and forth in the push and pull relationship between the 2 leads. However, the acting of Hans Zhang and Janine Chang is full of emotions and their chemistry is evident. An example is a scene whereby they sang the Here To Heart drama song, Without You, during a karaoke session. The tears just flowed. Without this on-screen chemistry, this drama could well be one big guess the producers of this drama probably wanted the viewers to be able to feel deeply invested in the love life of the characters. So, they dragged out the interactions between Wen Nuan and Nanxian as the 2 characters explore their feelings and start a guessing game as to what the other wants. It’s kind of frustrating to watch at times because they could have easily solved their problems by having a heart-to-heart talk like adults rather than torturing themselves I suspect that the novel probably contains a lot of internal dialogues that describe what the characters are thinking and feeling. This is pretty standard in romance novels. Hence, you can understand their motivations and relate accordingly to each of the scenes as you read. But on-screen, it is hard to make viewers fully understand merely from facial expressions and conversations. So, the drama feels long-winded as the different characters interact. Because it could not effectively flush out all the internal dialogues and emotional turmoils within the characters, you may end up being frustrated over Wen Nuan’s insecurities and scratching your head over Nanxian’s actions at You Watch Here To Heart?I won’t go so far as to say that I wasted my time watching it because I like the chemistry of the 2 leads. But I definitely won’t spend another 40 plus hours to re-watch. If you like a slow burn kind of romance drama, Here To Heart might be your cup of tea. A lot of patience is needed to follow the ups and downs of this love story. You can fast forward or skip certain episodes as you won’t lose the plot. But you won’t feel as emotionally invested in the characters then. This is because certain scenes might seem boring but they are done to slowly build up on the sufferings of Wen Nuan and Nanxian and how much they love one another in the viewers’ if you plan to watch it, I would suggest that you dedicate over 40 hours of your time to watch it from start to end. I don’t think the drama would be able to bring out that kind of emotional satisfaction and flavor if you skip some episodes even if it seems long-winded. It would also make you understand Wen Nuan and Nanxian’s relationship a bit better. The bottom line is Here To Heart is a long-drawn-out drama that aims to bring you on an emotional rollercoaster. So, be prepared for a long ride with some boring stretches in between once you get on!

Alongside shining a light on a previously ignored musical great, the film also looks at a hugely well-known historical figure in Marie, the actions of who here led Boynton on a journey of discovery about the queen which ended in what she felt was an earned’ villainisation of her. Chevalier opens with a dramatic violin off’ between Harrison who plays in real life as Joseph and a young Mozart, whose paths would have indeed crossed in Paris at that time. It took five months, seven days a week, six hours a day, my dad [a professional musician] came up with the routine. Boynton explained to So much of her image, she was trying to be the author of how she presented [and] how she was perceived, so she was a woman of “more is more is more” kind of extravagance.’ However, the actress found a helpful practical history lesson in her elaborate costumes and corsets. It’s interesting, the contrast between the opulence and scale of the exterior versus the interior, which is as restrictive as possible for women at that time. And thankfully, as an actress now you don’t need to go that far, but it is interesting to at least experience that in the fitting – obviously when someone is tying it safely – because you realise how restrained you are in your movement, in your breath and the way that you can project your voice, even,’ she noted. The craziest thing about Joseph’s story is the fact that he is the son of a slave and a slave owner,’ Harrison chimed in. He was never meant to be doing all of these things according to what they wanted, what the expectation was of him, and through some extraordinary circumstances and his incredible gift, he ended up being this icon that we are literally making a movie about today because of the work that he did. And not just as an artist, but as a philanthropist.’ The actor feels that Chevalier does a decent amount of addressing the injustices of the racial dynamics of the time’, in which Joseph is shown being bullied at school, physically attacked, and openly discriminated against thanks to the hateful rhetoric of the time. A lot has been written about the French queen, but Boynton said that leaving behind the preconceived ideas’ she – and the world – have about her was the most helpful part of her research – and remembering that she was just a young girl. She was 14 when she entered the French court, no 14-year-old should be put in that position of responsibility, and she had such a sheltered life,’ the actress pointed out. Her reputation is so specific, and she’s blamed for so much – and yet as a woman, especially at that time and in that position, you were told that you there are no real repercussions to your actions, you had no power. And then she’s put in this position where she realises the repercussions of that.’ Boynton reckons that doing away with prejudices was what enabled her to really drive home this version of her and what was specifically necessary for this story’. That did also mean looking at her as a villain, something she was reticent’ to do at first. Recalling a specific day when she was wowed, Boynton picked an extravagant ball scene as she remembered walking onto the set and feeling totally absorbed in the moment. Karen Murphy, our production designer, did the most unbelievably intricate job of designing that environment, but then also having things like – all the flowers you see in a film are real. It was a completely immersive experience being on that set and in that environment.
